December 24, 2009

I love last-minute Christmas shopping. No kidding! I guess it's sort of like cramming back in College, except that this is something I actually love to do. :)) FYI, cramming is one of my best talents. :PP

The time on our computer reads 8:15 PM of December 24th, and believe it or not, my eyes are crying for sleep already, for the following reasons:

***We got home past 12 this morning, from the Miranda Family Reunion held at Tita Minoy's house at South Bay Garden, Sucat, Paranaque. Everyone had fun :)), although there were a
lot of relatives who weren't able to come because they were out of the country. The food was superb, and some of the younger cousins were "forced" to perform (Mimi and I included) in front of our grandparents, uncles, aunts and parents :PP.

I particularly miss Majo and Kathy, because the three of us were always together during reunions and family potlucks. We would always plan the food we would eat, and perform a dance or song number for everyone. But this year's different, because Majo, who's a year older than I, is with her dad (my Ninong Diomeng) at Abu Dhabi; and Kathy, who's a year younger than I, is stationed at Okinawa, Japan (she's in the US Marine Corps). I really miss them, and I hope someday we could all get together soon.

***We had to get up at around 7AM because we wanted to get our last-minute Christmas shopping done with, so we could make fruit salad during the afternoon (we already cooked Callos and Chili Con Carne yesterday). Mom and I went to Greenhills, and Mimi went to SM North Edsa and SM Manila. We scoured the whole tiangge for real bargains, until we got so tired of walking and carrying heavy plastic bags. Mom wanted to go home before 4PM, because she had to go to Kuya Panny's house and deliver the gifts, then go back to Cubao before 8PM. So we rushed home and wrapped the gifts.

I know I should catch some zZzZ's before Noche Buena, but I can't, because I'm waiting for Amram's call. He went home to Laguna this morning straight from work, and since we can't text each other due to the heavy "text traffic", we call each other every two hours so we could at least spend our Christmas together, even if only through the help of Globe Telecom. :)) He tells me that I should sleep for a few hours, but I'm scared I might oversleep and miss his call. :PP

Oops, I have to go now, I still have errands to run. :PP Will write more soon. Merry Christmas to everyone! :))

:))

It's mid-December, and the monotony of my everyday existence has been shattered, thanks to our family reunions and super dates with my boyfriend.

I don't mean that in a bad way, it's actually nice to finally get out of the house a lot. :))

A lot of things have happened lately...

Umm… how do I start? First was when Uncle Tony (or should I say Lolo?) arrived here in Manila, straight from Cal. Not that I have favorites among my grandparents' siblings, but I really really like him because he loves to hug everybody. :)) I'm excited to finally see him again at the Miranda Family Reunion at South Bay Garden in Paranaque.

Then the Balikbayan Box arrived from New Jersey, uber thanks to Ma and Aunt Mia. :)) I got almost scared when Pa saw the year's worth of Vogue and Glamour Magazines. (He loathes them) Thankfully, he hasn't thrown them out yet, because I made a good job of hiding it under my bed. :P

Then there was the Abrera Family Reunion at Ayala Alabang Village last December 12. I haven't been to one for years, so it was nice to see them all again. This Reunion was a huge one, because even our relatives up to the sixth or seventh (or even eighth) degree were there. I actually saw Paolo Abrera and his wife Suzie Entrata-Abrera with their kids in the flesh. I know we were kind of related but that was the first time I saw them.

Then there's the weekend dates with Amram. Ever since he got employed somewhere in Libis, we have been going out a lot lately. Not that I'm a high maintenance girlfriend, he just loves to eat out with me and buy me stuff on a very regular basis [LOL. Defensive??].

Oh, my sister Mimi had her Speech and Theater Arts Majorship Exam this afternoon at her school, Philippine Normal University. I do hope she passes all her Majorship Exams (Social Science and English Exams are to be held next year) and I do pray the Lord will lead her to the right choice.

And then there's the Trojan computer virus in our desktop that super pisses me off, because I'm not able to fully access other Internet sites. We'll have to reformat the whole system again. Grrr!!!

The results from my Nurse I Qualifying Exam at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center - Victoriano Luna General Hospital has not been released, so I'm forced to wait. But if there's no word by January 2010, I'll be applying for another job. I've a lot of things to buy for next year, so I really need to work already. (Cue Material Girl -- Madonna)

That's it, I guess. I just wanted to post another entry here so my blog wouldn't look so empty. Will post more next time. :))

XOXO

New Start

I have decided to start a new blog.

One where I do not need to sugarcoat or "censor" my thoughts and ideas. Well, not totally. I still have to use code names of sorts, since people will read this.

One where I can write whatever I feel without being held back.

Anyway, this is just the beginning. I'll write more soon.

XOXO. :))
